Course Attendance Policy

It has always been my policy that any student who takes the course from me should always have the right to attend any other scheduled class at no charge, for audit as a refresher, with the exception of the Renewal Course. That policy was never intended to include a Full Certification Course.

Recently there have been a significant number of past students contact me regarding taking the Full 16 Hour Certification Course again because they didn't submit their applications when they first took the course. Those past students then fill a slot that a new, paying student would take. They also require new materials and Certifications, as well as record maintenance and reporting as any new student requires.

I can no longer support past students taking the Full Certification Course at no charge. Effective May 1, 2008, any student taking the course for Certification will be considered a new student. The cost will be the same as any other new student.

Any student continues to be welcome to attend any scheduled class for audit [no Certification] any time they wish at no charge.

There will be no charge to any of my students for the 2-year Requalifications during any scheduled class.

The cost of the NM CHL Renewal Course is $40 plus $2.98 tax = $42.98. Renewal Students are not required to pre-pay. However, registration is required no later than 24 hours prior to the class. Renewals are completed during the Saturday of any scheduled class.

Refund Policy

If any class is not offered or canceled prior to completion of the required 15 hours [PCS Classes are a MINIMUM of 16 hours], a full refund will be offered or a new course date will be scheduled at the discretion of the student.

Cancellations by the student must be made prior to 48 hours of the start of the course to receive a refund.

Once the class has begun, no refund will be offered to students that do not successfully complete the course, are asked to leave for unruly behavior or fail to successfully fire a qualifying score for live fire qualification. Students that fail to successfully fire a qualifying score for live fire qualification are welcome to return at a later date, mutually agreed on by the Instructor and that student [normally, during the next class range session] for no additional fee. Our objective is to qualify every student. All reasonable efforts to graduate students successfully will be made.

Denial of licensing by the New Mexico Department of Public Safety is not the responsibility of the instructor and no refund will be made in the event of such denial.
